ABOUT VIVULI

SHADES IN BROWN

Vivuli is a 501(c)(3) organization whose primary purpose is to promote unity, support, and economic empowerment within the Hampton Roads region and beyond. The meaning behind Vivuli is ‘shades’ which further broadens to mean, shades in brown. Our different projects and events will have a direct relationship to pushing our objectives and goals. Our foundation’s commitments continue to aid businesses and individuals through transforming their minds to respect others and the environment around them. Shades In Brown aspires to be a beacon of light, showing people what is possible throughout the collective embodiment of uniformity, supportiveness, and compassion. The projects that we have in store are designed to truly emulate what we aspire to be are through education, informative gatherings, community building events, and much more.

Our organization was established in 2012 to provide both our youth and elders ways to understand and employ the concept of unity, support, and empowerment. Unity sets us apart from the rest due to us creating a strong bond amongst one another.  With unity, together we will stand because if we are divided, we will fall.  We have experienced what falling can do to our progress, so going forward, we will come together to stand as one people to protect, respect, and be there for one another.

Support helps us to build us up one another morally and financially. We must understand that if we do not support each other then we will continue to fail as a nation. We do not want to have to depend on others to support us when we can simply depend on ourselves; others will see us building and they will acknowledge our self-sufficiency.

Economic empowerment (EE) will happen when we have unity and support for each other. They (Unity/Support/EE) are all tied in together where each work to assist the other. In the end, we will control our narrative and therefore our world.

VISION STATEMENT

The vision of Vivuli is to ensure that we unite to become a complete and pleasing whole. In Swahili they call it Ungana ( to unite). We will have oneness of mind when we are driven to unite and bring the community together . We will capture harmony and be one in spirit, sentiment or purpose. The force of Unity is needed for a complete survival of a people. We will be able to be protected from all the evil doings and instill a strong belief in our race. We can only accomplish so much individually, but together we can create a movement that brings tangible change and create a future of hope.
